Amanda, pregnant with the couple's second child, got up and ran into the restroom. She was about to come out and join Adam and their toddler, AJ, but she quickly noticed something odd. Amanda was in labor in the car dealership's bathroom.
"I'm getting ready to come out when I decided something wasn't right, so I sat back down and that's when I discovered that I was having the baby, so I delivered her myself."
Meanwhile, Adam and the couple's son were waiting on the car to be serviced in the waiting room, and had no clue what was transpiring in the bathroom. Amanda sent a text to her husband, letting him know that their baby had promptly arrived. Her text was short but to the point.
"I'm having call no I just had it."
Adam read the text, but had a hard time understanding what it meant. He said that by the time he realized what his wife sent him, someone had run into the service area, screaming that a woman had just delivered a baby. Adam immediately got to his feet, handed AJ to a manager, and began helping his wife.
With Amanda having delivered the baby, Adam had to find a way to tie the umbilical cord.
"I just looked down at my boot and grabbed the shoelace right off my boot and tied the umbilical cord."
They then dialed 911, and an ambulance arrived to take the family to the hospital. Amanda and the new baby girl are doing well, while the entire family is very appreciative of all the help from the dealership employees.
Here's more of this family's amazing story.
How this baby arrived into the world is as surprising as it is special. We're so glad that Amanda, the baby and the entire family are doing so well.
