We've heard dozens of powerful Pentatonix recordings in the past – from love songs, to sad tunes, to upbeat Christmas tracks – they're all good! However, the songs of the past are nothing compared to this rendition of "Dancing On My Own," which was originally sung by Robyn.
The talented foursome gather to perform a version of the song that went totally viral within an hour of posting it online! This song obviously means a lot to the members of Pentatonix.
They posted the video online with a note of thanks. They expressed excitement at sharing it with the world.
"We just wanted to take a minute to thank you all for your ongoing love and support. It means the world to all of us! 'Dancing On My Own' is one of our favorite songs (by Robyn who is one of our favorite artists) and we’re so very proud to share it with you. We hope you love it as much as we do and we’re excited to share new music (and more) with you very, very soon. We love you!"
Within one hour of posting this video on YouTube, more than 100,000 dedicated fans had viewed it. It's clear this group strikes a chord in their fans' hearts.
While this rendition is beautiful (as are all of their other tracks), it's hard not to think about what it would be like if Avi Kaplan was still part of the group. Avi tearfully announced his departure from the group in May 2017, but the other members have carried the torch proudly!
In fact, they're spending their summer traveling across the country performing at state fairs and festivals. All of their upcoming concerts are sold out.
After months of staying relatively silent, the four remaining members are happy to release their rendition of "Dancing On My Own." They're finally making music together again, albeit as a slightly smaller group.
