Man Creates Amazing House For His Dog Underneath The Stairs

In horror films, the small cubbyhole that's underneath the staircase is a popular hiding spot for gremlins and trolls. But in real life, the only horrors that will jump out at you are the boxes of household junk that's been piling up in there over the years. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot that can be done with this oddly-shaped piece of real estate, other than filling it with brooms, dustpans, and kids named Harry Potter.
Although it's probably not a good idea to turn this crawlspace into a makeshift guest bedroom, that doesn't mean you're stuck with using it as a hoarder's den. In fact, one creative fella took a very unique approach to re-purposing the room, and his best friend is drooling over it!
We've all heard of tiny homes, but this one is like nothing you've ever see before. Imgur user LuisCottoEMS converted the empty room beneath his home's staircase into an awesome puppy palace for his adorable doggy, Nickel. Just wait until you see the inside. That's got to be one happy dog!
All good things have to start somewhere, and this priceless piece of real estate was quite a fixer-upper. First, Luis installed insulation to keep his dog warm during the winter months. Then, new electrical outlets for the lights were run, so the cheeky pooch could see what he was actually licking up off the floor in the middle of the night.
This doggy daddy wanted his fur baby to feel safe, but since the padded, insulated walls gave the room a creepy insane asylum vibe, Luis smartly covered it up with drywall and plaster. Of course, no tiny home renovation is complete without hardwood floors!
Next, a coat of brown paint and application of crown molding started to make the space finally feel like a cool doggy crib. In fact, this spoiled pup's doghouse was starting to look better than some people's real human homes!
Since Nickel is a male pooch, girly decorations just wouldn't do. So, Luis adorned the walls with fun car racing memorabilia! From Route 66 to motorcycle signs, it's easy to see how this could be a "no girls allowed" doggy man-cave.
Although Luis was building this puppy pad for his best friend, the place was suspiciously starting to look like he might want to hang out in there too!
This little pup must surely be in heaven with his new little home. If Dorothy's dog from The Wizard of Oz was the one to say the infamous line from the movie, "There's no place like home," then this is probably where he'd really want to end up.
And should Luis find himself "in the dog house," he'll have a comfy place to call home, too! Which makes one wonder if he had been planning that all along.
