Weddings are beautiful occasions. They are joyous events that bring families together and reunite friends. Most wedding receptions that follow are traditional, but more and more couples these days try to put their own, unique twist into them. Oftentimes, costumes are involved. There are also funny pictures or unique venues.
For one couple, they decided to showcase their love of old rock 'n' roll. Monika and Dawid Tomaszewski celebrated their wedding in the company of family and friends. They even had their formal couple dance, a slow waltz to the song, "When a Man Loves a Woman." It was a sweet performance with the guests standing in a circle to watch the couple. But it was their other, less traditional dance that left their audience in awe.
When Monika and Dawid danced a slow song their families and friends went, "Aww." Man and wife were both graceful dancers. They made their guests go, "Oh!" when they performed intricate dance moves. It was a joy to watch, and the wedding photographer snapped picture after picture to capture the lovely moment. But as soon as the lights dimmed, the real show began.
Gone were the suit and tie and wedding dress. Instead, Monika and Dawid were dressed down in get-ups that were reminiscent of the rockin' Eighties. Monika was in a white blouse and skirt dotted with tiny red hearts, and on her head was a polka-dotted headband. Her husband, meanwhile, sported red suspenders and dark jeans.
They danced to "Hound Dog" by the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself, Elvis Presley. If you've danced a bit of jazz, twist, and swing, then you'll appreciate what this couple did during their rock 'n' roll dance routine. The minute the song started Monika ran to her husband and jumped into his arms. There was a loud hoot as the couple displayed their dance prowess.
It was very different from their first dance which was a slow love song. This song displayed the couple's amazing dance moves. The couple moved their hips and shook their legs earning applause and cheers from the guests surrounding them. There were even some loud whistles, but Dawid and Monika were very professional and didn't break character while dancing.
It felt a bit like watching a retro dance competition, but both Dawid and Monika looked like they thoroughly enjoyed what they were doing. While some guests couldn't keep their eyes off the couple, others were busting out their phones and cameras to preserve the awe-inspiring moment and unique wedding dance. Certainly, not a lot of couples bother to perform a less-than-traditional dance -- much less a rock 'n' roll one.
This was indeed a great way for Monika and Dawid to make sure that their wedding reception was one guests would be talking about long after the event ends.
