6-Year-Old Little Girl Asked To Sing At Wedding Melts Hearts Choosing The Perfect Song

After attending a friend's party, little Anya Ottley came home unusually exhausted. As she laid down on the couch to rest, her parents noticed an odd lump that bulged out from her stomach, something they had never noticed until that very moment.
Knowing that something was obviously wrong, they rushed the little girl to the doctor where tests revealed a giant tumor lurking in her stomach cavity approximately the size of a small melon. The situation was so dire that the little girl started treatment the same day she was diagnosed.
Anya, now six, underwent immediate surgery on her stomach cavity and also to remove her left kidney in November 2017. All of this has taken its toll on this sweet little girl, but she hasn't let it get her down too much, which she proved at a recent family friend's wedding.
"She knew something was wrong and she did ask me if she was going to make it, which was heartbreaking . . . She tells me her treatments aren't too bad for her and that other children on the ward are much more sick. She is really caring like that," mom Kathryn told the Manchester Evening News.
Anya has been a fighter throughout it all. She even cut her own hair and donated it to make a wig for others, but doesn't wear one herself.
While undergoing 28 rounds of treatment, Anya still had enough strength to walk out onto the twinkling dance floor at the wedding reception and belt out Rachel Platten's hit song "Fight Song." Her Uncle Aidan posted the video on Facebook and shared it on YouTube where it's amassed more than one million views.
Kathryn had explained to Anya, who loves to sing and shares videos of herself performing on social media, that when her treatments were done, she would be treated to a ring-the-bell party. She decided she would sing "Fight Song" at her party, so the reception was the perfect venue for practicing her victory song.
Wearing a powder blue dress, Anya stands powerfully on the corner of the dance floor, her feet apart, and clutches the microphone. She pours all of her heart and soul into this emotional song as the DJ and wedding guests watch her.
She even flexes her arm muscle while belting out the line, "This is my fight song!" People in the background are cheering for her, shouting her name.
"I've still got a lot of fight left in me," she sang.
The women sitting behind her exchange smiles, one of whom is her mom, and wipe away their tears as she proclaims her zest for lift and desire to keep fighting. The reception guests clap along, rallying around this brave little girl.
Toward the end of the song, Kathryn and several other people step out onto the dance floor and stand behind her, showing their solidarity of support behind this stoic little girl as she belts out the empowering lyrics. They all wipe away their tears, then share a beautiful moment at the very end.
