Officer Givens was sitting in his squad car when he began to be pestered by a very strange park-goer, he explained to The Dodo, "This goose came up and started pecking on the side of the car. I threw some food out for her, but she didn't take it. She just kept pecking and quacking. Then she walked away, stopped and looked back. Then came over again and pecked some more." Realizing she was trying to lead him somewhere, Officer Givens got up and followed her down an embankment where he spotted a gosling with its legs trapped in a balloon string.
Instinctively, Officer Givens called the local SPCA, but before they could arrive, his colleague, Officer Cecilia Charron, showed up and bravely freed the squirming little gosling while the mother watched anxiously. Geese are notoriously aggressive animals, especially when people approach their offspring, so it was odd that this mother stood idly by. She must've understood that the kind officers in the video below were just there to help!
