Mary Maxwell was asked to pray before a dinner honoring caregivers, but she also takes the opportunity to bring a laughter to the audience. Though she does ask for the blessing, she also delivers a hilarious speech on aging, giving a light-hearted look at the changes people will all inevitably face.
While growing older can scare some, Mary takes all things in stride! She brings humor to a topic that's normally followed with dread, saying, "The thing about old age is you don't get to practice. This is the first time I've ever been old... it just sort of crept up on me."
Mary knows that, as long as you don't take life too seriously, everything will work out the way it's supposed to! Her deadpan delivery was classic in her speech with lines like "This is the first time I've ever been old" and "It just sort of crept up on me" had everyone rolling in the aisles.
Most comedians stay away from the topic of getting old. But with Mary's hilarious prayer, you can tell that she's not going to ignore the most relevant topic at the event!
