The young men in the video below have spent months preparing for this moment and they're bursting at the seams to show the world what they've got! Their routine is incredibly impressive, too!
According to a website called Oddity Central, "Shuudan Koudou," which translates loosely to "Collective Action" in English, is the sport seen in the video below. These men have trained for months and walked countless miles practicing for this very moment.
All of their hard work and determination is about to pay off as soon as they walk out before the audience. Even though this sport is new to us, it's been going on for decades.
In fact, Shuudan Koudou was created 47 years ago at Japan's Nippon Sports Science University (NSSU). Since its creation, the routines have only become more challenging and women have been finally allowed to participate.
Even though it's not common in the United States, Shuudan Koudou is a lot like cheerleading competitions. The participants need an unrivaled ability to focus, maintain their body position and participate well with others.
Winning a Shuudan Koudou competition is a great honor for these young men and women. Many of them go on to be instructors, physical education advocates and trainers as adults!
