Inviting someone into your home is no easy feat. Whether it's a new acquaintance or a repairman coming over to inspect something broken, it can put people on guard since one doesn't know them very well, if at all.
When a Playa Vista, California family recently hired a repairman into their home they were left disturbed by the upsetting actions they caught the man up to in their home. Unbeknownst to the repairman, the family had set up camera in their children's bedroom and that's where they caught sight of a horrifying sight prompting them to call the police.
The video shows the repairman sneaking into their children's bedroom. He cautiously looks around to make sure he's alone before creeping into the room when he realizes the coast is clear. But he had no idea a camera was filming his every move. When he thinks no one is watching he walks over to the children's dirty clothes hamper and begins sifting through it until he finds what he's looking for - underwear. A few seconds later he leaves the parents utterly appalled with his behavior, as they replay the footage.
Jason Cooper, the father of the kids, says,
I was enraged when I saw this video.
The repairman had been hired to fix damaged floors in his home but had instead robbed the family of their sense of security by violating them with a disturbing sight.
A Nest camera had been set up over their 3-year-old daughters crib but they never imagined that same camera would catch a perpetrator reaching into their children's clothing to sniff and touch their underwear.
Jason couldn't stand the sight of the footage and immediately contacted the authorities about it. Thankfully his 5-year-old and 3-year-old were not in the bedroom at the time but he shutters at the thought of that very same man being around other children.
The repairman can be seen walking back to the hamper multiple times before he eventually pockets the underwear in his shorts before leaving.
Jason contacted the authorities but also confronted the repairman on the phone and says the man gasped when he told him that he had been recorded. Jason recalls,
I didn't want to hear what he had to say. He knew what he had done, he knew I had video of it. I want to make sure he can't do this to another family, and to another 5-year-old or another 3-year-old.
