Most people cannot stand upright on single blade ice skates at a glimmering ice skating rink let alone execute a smidgen of the moves competitive ice skaters can do. Chinese pairs skaters Sui Wenjing and Han Cong seemingly defy gravity with their incredible moves on the ice.
The pair is 2018 Olympic silver medalists, 2017 world champions, 2016 and 2015 world silver medalists, two-time Grand Prix Final bronze medalists in 2014 and 2010, four-time Four Continents champions, three-time World Junior champions, Junior Grand Prix Final champions and two-time Chinese national champions.
At the 2017 Cup of China, the pair debuted an exceptional routine set to K.D. Lang's throaty version of the Leonard Cohen classic "Halellujah." Their stellar performance earned them 82.39 points.
To start their routine, both started out in a warm embrace kneeling low on the ice. She's wearing a rich dark maroon costume and he is decked out in all black.
Their routine is distinct and completely in sync. Even with their beautiful spins, they whip around on the ice with moves perfectly mirroring each other and never once seem to make a mistake.
Han grasped ahold of Sui and threw her into the air, spinning her into a triple flip that stunned everyone. They also perfectly executed a triple twist where he effortlessly tossed her up into the air and flawlessly caught her.
During another part of their routine, her leg is intertwined with his as they spun around in place. When the song reached its crescendo, Sui cartwheeled into Han's arms and he elevated her into the air with just one hand for support!
Their choreography is breathtaking! It's no wonder they received such a tremendous score.
See for yourself how seamless and exceptional their routine is in the video below. It will leave you speechless.
