Crowd's Confused When 'Grannies' Drop To Ground But Soon Feisty Routine Has Everyone Rolling

For many of us, the grandmother archetype brings to mind a wise, gray-haired woman who's filled with lots of love, warmth, and laughter. So, when four demurely dressed "grannies" were spotted on the streets of Stourbridge in the West Midlands of England, it would be natural for folks to assume they were just a group of sweet, elderly ladies who were having a nice Sunday stroll.
What they didn't know was that these nanas actually had quite a naughty streak, and they caught the town off guard when they suddenly started twerking and grinding to some pop hit tunes! In fact, these grannies were so hot, their fiery dance routine left everyone in stitches and begging for more!
Despite their appearance - gray hair, long flowing skirts, and smart cardigans - these "grannies" could still bust a move! While most grandparents struggle to understand what "twerking" is or why such a thing even exists, this troupe of gal pals, officially known as The Dancing Grannies, are tapped directly into the youth generation.
When the women first started filming themselves grooving to hits like Low by Flo Rida and Psy's K-pop megahit Gangnam Style, they didn't expect people would actually pay them much heed. However, they caused such a big stir that their videos have now garnered hundred of thousands of views!
Which is probably a good thing, because these wise women aren't just trying to be footloose and fancy with their obvious good looks! They often perform for charities, and help raise money for children in need.
Their website describes the dancers as "a gang of Black Country elderly ladies who like to get down and boogie wherever they please." You can also hire these lovable nanas for festivals, concerts, and even funerals, but you don't actually need to buy tickets or live in England to see them do their hilarious thing.
After you watch the footage below, you might wonder how these gals can actually grind so low without breaking a hip. As you've probably already figured out, looks can be deceiving! Sue Hawkins, Jackie Fellows, Deb Nicholls, and Emma Rollason are all between the ages of 33 and 51, but they happily don their granny wigs and support hose for their theatre company, Fizzog Productions.
In their latest performance, it's anyone's guess what will happen when the women suddenly lay down on the ground. But, as soon as they lift their arms and feet up into the air, it's hard not to crack a silly smile! Don't miss out on this wild mashup of dance hits, which includes favorites like Riverdance, "Thriller," "Vogue," and "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls.
